Essie Madame Wiesn

This is such a gorgeous shade of grey-purple!

This polish first caught my eye on Instagram back in October of 2016. It was an exclusive release in Germany for Oktoberfest and it kept coming up on my favourite German Instagram accounts.
Left to Right: Bussi Bussi, Southern Grazia, Madame Wiesn, Spin the Bottle, Sole Mate and Lovie Dovie

Just now when I googled "Essie Oktoberfest 2016" this was the only promo image I could find. I thought only the first three were released for Oktoberfest?! They are all Limited Edition exclusive to Germany: Bussi Bussi, Southern Grazia and Madame Wiesn. I'm not sure what the other three polishes are and my guess is that they were previously released Essie's and not brand new colours. But like I said, that's just a guess. All the blogs I perused (because I can't read German!) only included the first three shades. *Updated to add: A lovely reader told me that they are indeed previously released shades! They are Spin the Bottle, Sole Mate and Lovie Dovie. Thanks Anouk!

Out of those three shades, Madame Wiesn really caught my eye! It's so unique to the polish colours Essie has in their repertoire. I lusted after this polish so bad for months but never thought I could own it. I was SOOO happy when Aleksandra (my Essie Club Collab friend from the Netherlands) said she was still able to order it from Amazon Germany. She brought it with her to New York which is how I got my happy little hands on it!

It has a nice two coat formula and was easy to apply because it has the wide European Essie brush. Here's how it compares to the other grey-purples in my stash. It's darker than anything I have and while it still retains it's purple hue, it's also very grey. It's so cool and so unique!

I put this polish on when I was in New York and a few of the Essie execs commented on how beautiful it was. When I told them it was exclusive and LE to Germany someone said "we need to bring that here!" I so agree. Rebecca Minkoff has been doing the seasonal collections based on destinations, so now I think she should do a collection based on Germany and include this one in the collection! That would be so amazing.

If you have any friends or contacts in Europe that'll be the only way you can get your hands on this pretty polish :( But I hope you liked seeing a cool International Essie with me!

Thank you for showing us this polish!! By now you know my love for grey-purples and this will definitely go on my lemming list. In the meantime, I'm off to find a dupe somewhere since I don't know anybody in Europe. :(

The three other shades in the promo picture are indeed existing shades; spin the bottle, sole mate, and lovie dovie. Hope that helps :)

Yes I know! There are certain polishes in my collection that have sentimental value because of who gave them to me and this one is up there now 😊

Yes you would love this one Mrs W! You are right though, there may be another polish company that dupes this color 😉.
