I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Was Santa good to you? The holiday fun isn't over yet because we've still got New Year's to celebrate!
Since I hardly ever wear sparkly manicures, I thought there was no better occasion to bust out the glitter polish than New Year's Eve. I chose three different looks (technically four) that I will definitely be considering wearing for the occasion.
Okay, I started with Haute Tub for something that was understated but still had a tiny bit of sparkle. It's a deep black crelly polish that has tiny amethyst sparkles suspended in it. It's subtle but beautiful.
Haute Tub + Pure Pearlfection
While the above mani is perfect for me any other day of the year, I wanted to bump up the shimmer factor for New Year's Eve. I put a coat of Pure Pearlfection on top of my Haute Tub mani and I LOVE the result! The fine amethyst glitters still show through but combine with the fine white shimmer of Pure Pearlfection. The white shimmers are kind of iridescent and have purple and blue tones as well so the whole thing looks like a galaxy. I think I'm going to do this combo every time I wear Haute Tub!
After School Boy Blazer + Carnival
I mentioned that I recently discovered Essie Carnival in my Holiday Picks, but there's no better time to wear it than New Year's. I put it over a super dark navy and I'm obsessed with how it looks.
There's fine silver glitter in this top coat as well as holographic glitter that turn rainbow colours. Catching that effect always works better when the camera is out of focus so I showed you below.
Ignite the Night
The manicure I really want to wear for New Year's this year is the After School Boy Blazer plus Carnival combo but I wanted to be able to post at least three ideas. So I asked my friend Bailey what she would wear for New Year's Eve. She's the glitter queen so her choice was Ignite the Night. I had to borrow this one because I don't own it. Ignite the Night is an in your face sparkle fest so if you want some serious bling for New Year's Eve this one is your best bet!
It's a silver/hematite mix of fine glitter that you can build up to be opaque in 2 coats. This polish would be perfect and eye-catching for sure.
What will you be wearing on your nails for New Year's Eve?
