Nail Polish Haul : Essie Mauves, Darks & Winter 2015 Collection

My nail mail arrived!

Right after I said I had a big order of polish coming from Sparkle Canada, it arrived 4 or 5 days early and I was opening the package that very afternoon. Since they had taken a week to ship my order, they sent my polish by expedited shipping and also threw in a free mini OPI set, which was super nice of them.

I could not wait to get my hands on the Winter 2015 Virgin Snow Collection, which if you read my blog at all, you've seen the swatch post as well as the comparison post. The comparison post took a little wind out of my sails since I found so many look-alikes in my collection, but I'm still really liking Peak Show, Virgin Snow and Haute Tub.

I had to fill up my order to get free shipping, so I got some other random beauties as well.

I've started to research what the all-time best selling Essie's are as well as classic colours that have been around since the 80's. I figure those are the kinds of polishes I want in my collection if they've got a 30-year staying power :). So Licorice, a shiny jet-black, made it into my cart.

In all my Essie readings and research, I kept find bloggers or youtubers top ten 10 Essie's of all-time lists and this chic blue-black polish called After School Boy Blazer was often on it. I like deep dark colours in the winter, so I figured this was a polish I needed for my own collection.  I always assumed that it was so dark that it looked black, but next to Licorice I can see the difference.

Oh mauve; my favourite colour this season for makeup and nail polish. I was obsessed with my bottle of Angora Cardi and wanted to see what else Essie had in the mauve department so I did a little digging around and I came up with these two pretties! Neo Whimsical (the lighter one) reminds me of a dustier, more toned down, Fall appropriate version of French Affair.  The other mauve polish is called Island Hopping, and it looks a couple shades lighter than Angora Cardi. To me it's the nail polish version of the Kylie Jenner lip colour and I'm obsessed! I honestly can't wait to wear both of these polishes.

The mauve polishes are probably the ones I am most excited about right now and I'm sure they will be making a blog appearance soon. What colours/polishes are you obsessing over this Fall?

If you have any recommendations for me of Essie polishes you really love, leave them in the comments below and I will be sure to check them out. Also, if you have any polishes you want comparisons or reviews on let me know those too.
