I'm always looking forward to new Essie collections! Rebecca Minkoff has been hired as Essie's new Global Color Designer, picking the colours and the inspirations for the new collections. Her first collection is this Spring's floral colours called Flowerista.
The colours look pretty, although those nudes from the collection do nothing for me. Three of the colours look like ones we've seen from Essie already; the purple looks similar to Too Taboo and DJ Play that Song, the darker teal looks like Naughty Nautical and the mint one looks exactly like Mint Candy Apple. Despite this, I've read online that the formula's are wonderful with Blossom Dandy (mint) applying better and less streaky than Mint Candy Apple. Which is awesome. That may be a reason in itself to pick that colour up since Mint Candy Apple's formula is such a pain.
After seeing swatches, the surprise of the bunch is the grey colour called Petal Pushers. A pretty neutral with purple undertones, that may be the standout pick of the collection for me.
This collection has been released in the U.S. already but us Canadians usually have to wait until April 1st. Although last year's collection popped up in Walmart mid-March so we could be seeing these soon.
