I went a little crazy buying up most colors from last years Resort, Spring and Summer Collections, so when Fall rolled around I took a step back. I really didn't NEED more polishes, so I've been very thoughtful in mulling over my picks from the Fall and Winter Collections. I finally settled on this beauty from the 2013 Winter Collection called Shearling Darling as one of my first purchases since Summer.
It's a very dark red brown; like a nice wine color but with no real plum tones in it. It first caught my eye as I was reading through some of my favorite style blogs, and the blogger had paired this color on her tips, with a burgundy skirt and creamy colored sweater on top with pops of gold jewelry. I realized how perfect the color was for wearing with my winter wardrobe as well as satisfying my need for vampy winter shades. As I applied it last night for the first time I was not disappointed.
The polish went on nice and smooth, not too thin, but also not too thick which can translate to a goopy polish over time. The opacity was great and I achieved this rich color in two coats. Even in darker lighting it's obviously not black which can be hard to come by in a dark polish.
I can already tell I'm going to get lots of wear out of this one.
